I am takning down my saltwater tank, but I want to keep my sand for later in case I want to set the tank up as saltwater again some times. Can this be done, can it be stored what is the best way to clean it before I store it?

Rinse it out in a 5 gallon bucket , a small amount at at time then put out to completely dry. Once its dry put it in a ( or a couple ) plastic trash bag and seal tightly. That should work well for you.
