We have a niger trigger in our 90 gal FO tank. It looks like he has white stuff in his mouth and doesn't eat like he used to. He usually would eat silversides and about anything the others ate. But now he will barely eat flake food, and he isn' eating very much of that. He also is hiding alot more than he used to, I don't know if it is related, but noticed that behavior about the same time. Could this be ick??? If so, how can I treat it in a tank with live rock, DSB, a lionfish, nasso tang, and a snowflake eel.
Thanks, the help is always appreciated!!! ![]() |

niger's can be tough to treat. although they are triggers they tend to develop more problems than other family members.
i currently have one that isnt eating much either but shows no signs of disease. has become more active recently which is good sign ,but not really eating at all. in your case if the fish eats thats good , it doesnt sound like ick to me. you may want to quarantine with a antibiotic (tetracycline or Furacyn)in case he has some infection. |
