How long should I cure Figi Cured LR from PA?
I've recently recieved my order of 40 lbs. of Figi Cured LR from Premium Aquatics. I had it shipped overnight, and immediately put the LR in a 46-gal tank upon arrival. There was a slight odor to the LR when I unpacked it, but nothing all too bad.
The tank it's in is equipped with a skimmer, heater, 2 PHs and 2 NO-bulb strip lighting, and I have been monitoring the tank's water params. So far, I've noticed only a marginal increase in ammonia. The LR has been curing thus for a little over a week now. Should I keep the LR in the curing tank for a while longer, or would it be safe to go ahead and add it to my stocked tank? Thanks, Tarek |

When your test results tell you 0/0/0 then its fully cured . I feel though that you could start adding it to your other tank now , if you add only alittle at a time. There are to many variable that go along with this hobby though to flat say that your rock will be cured in XX days .HTH.

Yep, when all your readins are within range you can call it cured. Could take 2 days or two months. Depends how bad it was when it came in. And yes you can add it to an exsisting tank but only a few lbs at a time every few days at most.
