Ditto. My snow never went after my hermits or snails. JWT

I would watch the cleaner shrimp. The Eel could very well make a meal out of them unless it excepts them for their job a 50/50 chance.

I kept two cleaner shrimp with my 18 inch snowflake and he would let them climb all over him, including pick around inside his mouth! I'm not sure if different eels react the same with cleaners, but I've read accounts and seen pictures of other more aggressive eels allowing cleaners to do their thing and not be bothered by them. Just my experience. JWT

eels only really act up when theres food in the water or something smells like food.

My eel eats any of my snails that end up on their backs unless I can get to them first.. but leaves everything else alone.

I have a snowflake eel also, about 8-10" long. He does eat shrimp. I put a few extra shrimp in there for the lionfish, and i watched the eel come out of his hole, smell one out in the sand, rip it right out of the sand, take it back to his hole and eat it!!!! Was a totally cool site. He doesn't bother the snails at all.
