Most careless mistake

Well, I guess this day was going to happen sooner or later.
The day I will do the stupidest thing possible in regards to keeping fish.

Friday night I decided to bleach the corals to clean them up, usually just hose them down but it's been awhile.

put the four of them in the bin, pour bleach with water and let sit overnight. in the morning i breack off the ice and pour the water out.
what I saw as the last bit of water emptied was heart breaking.

Out onto the deck floor comes my 2" picasso trigger. Could not believe I was that careless. He is usually in a large pipe organ coral that was holed out in the middle where he would stay and that is where I thought he was.

It was my sons favorite fish.

Dude, that's sad, I'm so sorry for you...

When I used to work at the LFS, we had to zap one of our systems with Potassium Permanganate to kill everything, when we went to clean it out, the next day, I found a blennie (can't remember what kind) curled up in the corner of one of the tanks, he must have been under the sand when we emptied the system of Livestock.

Jeez, that's a real bummer I know how you feel, I just lost my wrasse after he found the only 1"x4" slot in my canopy and jumped out, I found him 3 days later behind the tank

Thanx for the replys,
THis past weekend i was able to get a great looking 4" picasso at a local Petco. the colors were not that great in the store, but when he got in my tank they were extemely vibrant, i remember this fish from 2 weeks ago and called to see if they still had it. suprisingly this particular petco keeps their salt tanks in great shape and also most of their fish stock that i see there is healthy looking.

dont think my son will realize it is a different fish, even though he is 4x the size.
