Sand Cleaners in Fish Only
Hi All,
I was just wondering what, or who, is used to keep the sand bed clean in the Fish Only set-ups? If you were to have predatory fish I would see this as being a problem. THanks, CaptK |

I used to have two scooter blennies that kept the bottom pretty clean. I also had triggers, but the blennies would move fast enough to keep away from the triggers. I would recommend just getting one. I tried snails and I always had to tip them over, was a big pain in the butt.

I have cerith snails (~25), a pink and black cuke and a ton(~60-70) of what appear to be nassiruis <-(sp?) snails that thrive on my sandbed. The nassiruis snails were hitchhikers on the LR, and not a day goes by without finding another glob of eggs on the glass. There have been no problems what so ever, and I would highly reccomend the pink and black cuke. It gets fairly large and not only cleans the sand bed but also the diatoms on the glass as well. The only problem with it may be that fact that un-protected PH's need to be covered to avoid a big mess.
