I have a 55 gal reeftank with 2 damsels.One is blue and the other is black with yellow tail,my question is how do I capture these creatures without tearing down the tank, I have a very large amount of rock and would like to get these fish out so I can put other fish in! Or are there anyother fish I can put in without the damsels distroying others???Thanks so much oceanreef.. A concerned learner!! |

Tearing down the tank might be the only way. Check the archives for creative ways to capture the little buggers. One thing that might work is the plastic coke bottle trap. The directions for that should be archived. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll e-mail you the directions.

You may also be able to "herd" them with small sheets of plexi glass.

A trigger or lion fish might do the trick
but only if you plan on keeping these carnivores would I recomend you get one. what kind of other fish are you looking to put in the tank. Maybe if you can chase them into a hole in a rock then you can take the rock out of the water. This works great with my tang and grammer.
