Breeders...

Well I may have finally lucked out, male banggai cardinal refused food today. He wouldn't even take his favorite, live brine shrimp. Seems otherwise fine and has been the picture of health up 'til now. The thing is, this "pair" has only been together for 7 weeks, seems kinda soon to me. I can only assume I formed a pair because the large and dominant fish nearly killed the first two candidates within days, the third fish I tried was immediately accepted and the two have been inseperable ever since the first five minutes together. He even seems to be holding his mouth slightly open as if to let water circulate through (or am I immagining things?). Time will tell.
Meanwhile the Clarki's that have been together for six months are still a big dissappointment, I lost the female oscellaris (pair together for one year) to Brooklynella and the female Tomato (pair together 8 months) took a flying leap onto the floor. Damn. The three fridmani can't seem to be able to decide how the sexes are going to work out, I'm just waiting for them to come to an agreement. The amboinensis spawn regularily but have shifted from a 14 day incubation to 17 days, both shrimp made the change at the same time, very odd. I have still not been able to rear the larvae past 15 days but have temporarily suspended my efforts as I am using them as supplemental food for two baby seahorses I rescued from lfs, now 8-1/2 weeks old.
All for now... any comments?

Just want to say congrats on your progress with the Banggai. Look forward to hearing about a tank full of larvae soon. Hopefully you'll have more luck with the other species over time.
