Talking New to marines

just a quick note to say hi i am from the uk and have just set up my first fish only 54 gal tank.

The tank has been running for 7 days now and is still maturing with 3 yellow tail damsels and a hermit crab they are all doing fine.

Hope to post more in time and get some help from the forum thanks all .

Welcome to the board Andrew. This is a good place to find info and alternative methods for doing things. The folks on the board are always willing to share the knowledge they have and helpout where possible. Most will have the animals well being as a number one priority.

Make sure you monitor your water quality very closely . Watch for spikes and be ready to do water changes if needed . You should probably have a 5 gallon bucket of saltwater mixed and ready to go , especially at this stage of your tank and with the method you have chosen to cycle.

When you get the opportunity post the specifics of your tank (and put them in your profile) then when a problem arises people will already have an idea of how your tank is set-up. Tank set-ups do make a difference!!You may also want to consider getting a good book or two to read while you are in the beginning stages . Again welcome to the board and the marine aquaria hobby.
