i would probably use the reef water given the fact that all parameters are good .
My 55 gal.is ready to go.It will be FOWLR and a DSB. My question is do you think it is better to use water out of my reef,or mix up a new batch to do a last water change on the 55. The reef is an 80 and has been up for 14 months. Thanks for the replys.

I think I would have to go with using a new batch of water. Water itself does not carry alot of bacteria for denitrification purposes , and if the 55 is ready to go it should not need it anyway. On the other hand the reef will be utilizing alot of the trace elements that the water does carry , so the water will actually be less than 100% . JMO.
In this hobby patience is not a virtue,,,,,its mandatory.
When I set up new tanks I try to get some water from a water change on my established tank and use it along with a fresh batch of salt water to fill it up the rest of the way usally around 50% of each.
It might have some coraline spores and other suprising things that might take hold.
Go Vols!!!!!!! See my Tanks http://www.zebra.net/~shoeman/fish_tanks.htm
