Bleaching Ocean Rock

Hi,
The Ocean rock in my fish-only aquarium is looking rather dull, i would like to bring it back to its clean , white state , can you advise me on how to safely bleach rock??,

I've been gone for awhile, but why would you want to whiten your rock?In the ocean, it is full of color for a reason.

yer , what i mean is i want it to be clean again like it was when i bought it , at the moment its covered in algae and general crap
, i just wanna clean it up

As long as we're not talking about live rock here, which I'm sure we're not, bleaching rock and dead coral is no problem. Just put the rock in a bucket, add water and about 1/2 cup of bleach. Fifteen minutes will usually do the job. You can scrub it with a toothbrush to help get it cleaner. Then rinse it well and soak it for another 15 or 20 minutes in water to which aquarium de-clorinator has been added. Setting it out in the sun for a few hours works too, to remove the clorox. Be sure you can't smell any bleach on the rock before you put it back.

If you want to clean it before it gets too ugly, just scrub it under running hot water with a toothbrush.
