Question Majestic Angel Info?

well ,i think i may be ready to lay down some cash on one of these beauties. $90.00 for a 4".

never spent that much before on a fish so would like to gather as much info as i can.
the fish looked great ,there are about 5 of them.
colors were extrodinary.
will be digging out the past 5 years of fish mags to see what i got on them.

anyone have any experience with them specifically?
TIA

Hey Triggers!
how are you my friend, long time no see!
(I know, my fault, I haven't been around lately)

What do you want to know about keeping one? it shouldn't be a problem to you. What tankmates would it have? still have all those aggresive fish? what size of tank are we talking about for the Angel?

To give you an idea, IME it shouldn't be much different to keep than any of the 'hardier' big growing Angels. If you need details just let me know, no problem.

swung by there at lunch today. the place has 6 of them ranging from 90 - 150 ,3" - 6"

the two that i am interested in seem to be interested in the empty mussel shells and the romaine cliped to the glass.

the owner wasnt in will be back later.

i asked the guy there to throw some food in but he claimed that he fed them 4 x today already and that none of the fish would be hungry and suggested i come back later.. whatever. this guy is a freak anyway.

the owner of this place is not a personable guy and i dont like doing business with him....but he has the goods. what the hell as long as the fish is eating and healthy looking... right?

i going to ask him if he will take $80 cash. but this guy is kind of a quack that he could get mad and just not sell the fish to me at all.
ill take the chance.

ok, i got the fish last night. he had 3 for $90 and 4 others ranging from $100 - 150.

the one for 150 looked incredible. price just to crazy for me at this time.

talked to the whacko a bit about the fish then asked about feeding him some food. he says they eat fine ,have been here 3 weeks and if they werent eating they would be dead. and as he was walking away told me they are fed in the am come back if you want.
it like, ok.. you dont believe me so leave.

well all the angels he had were very plump and no signs of any distress some were picking at emply mussel shells and looked interested in searching for food.

i took the damn chance b/c i knew i wanted this fish. and this guy usually has pretty good active stock.
asked him if he would take $80 cash, no... when you leave i will raise price.

fish was eating mysis shrimp soon after lights went on last night after aclimation period. seems to be settling in nicely.

Thumbs up

Sounds like everything is OK so far!
Saw on your other post that your Picasso is very mellow, and the Maroon Clown is probably only minding his own business in his territory, right?

I gave the Queen Angel and Picasso to a friend, they are in a 100 gal. I went reef with the 200 gal, so they had to go. Not far though, I see them often!

A second kiddo on the way? expected for today? wow, time flies, I still remember when your 1st one arrived.
Mine turns 5 months old this 27th!

time does fly ,especially when your busy chasing a toddler around.
