I'm sure this will get moved to saltwaterfish but I wanted the local experts to see this before it does!

I got the idea of the pond by skimming through posts at swf, and watching someone build a pond with my best friend. We both thought. Man that looks easy, and the idea began from there. Right now I'm thinking of a 7' long tank, 3' wide and 3' tall. I don't have the gallons worked out yet but I think when i figure it out, it will be atleast 300g.

Does anybody have comments on the tanks shape, size?

The pond itself will be above ground, I haven't figured out if the frame will be built out of wood or cinder blocks, but I do plan to use a pond liner.

For filtration I plan to go "gasp" skimmerless! Well not quite, I do plan to use a skimmer and help it out with mangroves and caulerpa. Do I go with a wet dry filter? Or just a 4" sandbed?

Obviously, this is only in the making, I'm on a limited budget as I currently am going into ninth grade so the pond will hopefully be filling with water in the summer of 2004. But in that time, I hopefully will be able to have saved enough money and have compiled a bunch of info.

Any comments so far. I'll keep this thread updated about every 2 weeks?

I also forgot, will I need a brace for the tank? If so how many and where, every 3 feet?

well I just figured out that I'll probably be going with around 2 feet' for the height, for preasure reasons, but then maybe I'll go an extra foot or 3 for the distance
