Coris, Clown Wrasse
Triggers, I have a Coris Wrasse like the one pictured. It has been with me for about 2 years. It does great! I just feed it regular formula foods. It even lives in crushed coral gravel instead of regular sand! I saw an adult one that was a foot long in our lfs. I know of no known problems with keeping it. Didn't you just get a majestic angel? If so how is it doing. I had one before, but it lasted on 4 days in a just cycled tank (should of waited).

well, i made the purchase today. he is about 4 1/2" great coloring.
decent price only $30.00. he was buried 2x i was at lfs today. but i seen him past 2 weeks. put him in tank and he just layed on bottom and when i came back a while later he was buried somewhere. i am expecting him to stay there for possibly a couple of days before he ventures out. did yours hide for awhile? yeah, just got the majestic. this is a pretty decent fish. already eats from hand, pretty good appetite. just hoping it keeps up. |

My Wrasse hid for a couple of days. Now his routine is to swim around the tank from about 8:30am until 6:00pm. He will sleep or stay under the gravel during the other times. Very good appetite, it will take food from other fish at times and when it has the food it will not let go. I am not sure about my majestic. I guess it was the just cycled tank. I put it in a tank that was set up for only 2 months. The only other fish in the tank at time time was a black back butteryfly. The butterfly seemed to resent the angel. I could never get it to eat. It was active in the tank but never caught on. Good luck with yours, our lfs said once they eat they should be good to go. I talked to a marine biologist about one and he didn't recommend me getting it. But this has always been a favorite, but with the aggressive fish I have now, I am not going to try it.

he came out sat am. so it was only about a day. sooner than i thought.
his active time is appears to be about the same that you described. they really like mussels, as with my other fish. |
