FO setup recomendation
What do you recomend as a good setup for a FO tank.
Tank would be approx 150ish gal reef ready

Are you converting your reef over to a FO? If so, I would say that what you have will work out nicely as is!

LR, crushed coral(easy to clean and helps maintain ph) although knocks out sandsifters and blu jaws. i think they are ugly anyway. A good skimmer and circulation is all you need for FO. If you want big eaters, Angels, puffers, triggers then you might want to add on a UV sterilizer to aid with killing all the unwanteds that ome with the excess waste. But FO is very easy set up. Lighting is a sinch, just stick with NO bulbs, I usually use at least 4-36" on my 150 but have upgraded to VHOs for color.
Make it easier, use a sump and you even get good heat release and surface airation. Check out your LFS most of thier FO tanks are nothing but big skimmers and big sumps. |
