is it safe yet

I lost a rusty angel and clown about 3 weeks ago to ich. I still have blue damsel and one clown left with no signs of infection. Is it safe to get another fish yet?

Not any safer than it was 3 weeks ago. For it to be safer, you would have to maintain a fishless tank for at least a month before adding fish to the tank. Fish should be quarantined for a month before adding to the tank and if problems develop, a month of quarantine after successful treatment to eradicate the problem.

Yes, only the fish have to be removed.
In my own case, I would treat any fish going into the tank with hyposalinity at 1.008 for 4 weeks and if no problems then, slowly raise the s.g. to the tank s.g. before replacing the fish. Any new fish would go through the same treatment before being placed in the tank.

thanks for the info - should I medicate my display tank or will the parasite die off on its own?

NEVER medicate the display tank!!!!!!!!
Always use hospital tanks for treatment. A quarantine tank can be both hospital and quarantine.
