Welcome to reefland.
Not to dash your ideas but I will anyway sorry in advance. First off a 72 bow front would not be near big enough for a blue spot ray. They grow up to 28" long and 12" across in size and need lots of swim room and a 3-4" sand bed of fine sand. They also very badly in captivity usally not eating and or die from disaese. You would need a minimum of a 300 gallon tank to make this fish even the slightest happy. So save your money for a different fish that you can enjoy for many years to come. Oh forgot the orginal purpose of the questioin. Filteration would depend on if you plan to have sump under neath or would you be doing every thing as hang on the back? |

As far as filtration , all you will really need is a good skimmer , live rock, and a 5 inch live sand bed. I've never used any kind of filter on my tank. Just do a water change every so often to keep the trace elements in the water.....Mike
