I bought a rare morish idol that eats like there is no tomorrow. I thought that I had a real winner until I noticed that the lower portion of one eye is a bit cloudy. I have him in a QT. How should I treat him? Melefix? Thanks

Since you can't get a definate diagnosis, Melafix is your best bet. Cloudy eye can also be a secondary infection caused by ich. Continue to examine your fish closely for any evidence of ich, especially first thing in the morning when the white spots are more numerous. Otherwise, go ahead and treat with Melafix, which can be used in the main tank if you don't have a q-tank. Good luck with your Idol. As you may already know, they tend to have short aquarium lives even when they are eating well. Most likely because they miss a crucial nutrient in their diet and we can't provide it because we don't know what it is.
