Looking for a yellow fish..
Its tankmates would be a pair of Maroon Clowns , various and assorted snails , crabs , shrimp and some mushrooms and polyps. The tank size is 55 gallons. I want a fish thats an easy keeper , friendly , hardy and YELLOW. Anyone care to suggest something based on previous experience? What to avoid would also be appreciated . Thanks .

I have a Yellow Coris Wrasse, Very yellow eats everything I offer from flakes to frozen food. I had him in a 30 long with a Maroon Clown and a Sailfin Blennie all got along well. This tank became infected with Velvets disease and he is the only one who made it. He is still in the same tank with a Percula and Sailfin Blennie still healthy and getting along with everybody. They say they are poor shippers but I got mine from FFE now Dr. F&S. he has been with us for over 1 year.

I was going to suggest the yellow coris wrasse too, when you first posted. But I couldn't remember the name and got distracted and forgot. Anyway, a friend has one of these and it's a delightfully beautiful fish. His fish seems a little calmer than most active wrasses and gets along with all of its tankmates.

You could get a foxface , they are hardy , brightly yellow coloured with a black and white striped face , related to the tangs. They are friendly and active fish , however a little nervous and they are venomous , They are somewhat more disease resistant than the tangs aswell,

Foxface is a beautiful and interesting fish, however I wouldn't put one in a 55 gal. Mine grew from 2 1/2 " to 7" in 3 years, so a foxface would fairly quickly outgrow the tank.

Yes the yellow coris wrasse, would be a good choice......
But it is misidentified...... I do not believe it is a caris wrasse...... or something in that family like that...... But still it is a beautiful and active fish! and small!
