water flow

I need to get a pump for my 75 gallon Dutch, soon to be sps reef tank.

I have a couple questions.

1) what size of fuge should I put on it?
2) how much flow should go through it?
3) is 2400 gph to much for a closed loop on a 75 gallon, this would also include my filter that is located in the tank?

Minimum 'fuge size is 20% of the main tank volume. But in this case, bigger sometimes is better. Slow to moderate flow rates are the norm, but sometimes higher turnover rates are used. Short of your fishys getting slammed into the coral, high flow rates for the main tank is a GOOD THING.

I don't think 2400 gph (mag24?) would be too much. I'm using an Ampmaster 3000 on my 75 and like it!!! I might even still keep a powerhead on the same side as the overflow box.

I'm using both of the holes in the overflow box as drains (1.5" tubing) and a 1.5" return that splits into 2 1" pipes, one feeds a sea swirl, and the other a 1" spray bar which runs pretty much the length of the tank, 1/3 of the way up.

As for the size of the refugium, go as big as you can. I'm planning on adding a 30-40 gallon in the near future.
