water flow
I need to get a pump for my 75 gallon Dutch, soon to be sps reef tank.
I have a couple questions. 1) what size of fuge should I put on it? 2) how much flow should go through it? 3) is 2400 gph to much for a closed loop on a 75 gallon, this would also include my filter that is located in the tank? |

I don't think 2400 gph (mag24?) would be too much. I'm using an Ampmaster 3000 on my 75 and like it!!! I might even still keep a powerhead on the same side as the overflow box.
I'm using both of the holes in the overflow box as drains (1.5" tubing) and a 1.5" return that splits into 2 1" pipes, one feeds a sea swirl, and the other a 1" spray bar which runs pretty much the length of the tank, 1/3 of the way up. As for the size of the refugium, go as big as you can. I'm planning on adding a 30-40 gallon in the near future. James |
