Ro/di

I have the chance to buy an RO filter on this link for $75 http://www.aquadirect.com/catalog/ro/specmore/2ro.htm

Do you guys suggest I buy an RO/DI or is RO just fine? The one that the guy is selling is the second picture on the attached link. I'm simply tired of having to drive 2 hours to buy my RO.

Thanks,
Ilia

Hi Ilia,

If you are talking about the CHP system it says that it is not recommended for the most aquaria applications. For another 100.00 bucks or so you could get a 4 stage RO/DI unit that will be giving you 25gal. per day. I believe that a good RO/DI system is the key to successful tank and a sound investment. I have AquaFX 4 stage unit, which you saw in my house and I'm very pleased with its performance. Look around some more and don't jump on something that is cheaper per se.

Check out www.captivereefs.com I just bought a 4 stage 75 GPD RO system from them for $169.99. It even came with a pressure gauge and auto shutoff!

Thumbs up ro/di

Check out airwaterice I picked up the typhoon III about 6 months ago and I love it. Walter at the company is great and will answer any questions you have about water and ro/di units. Check them out..

IMO you should get an RO/DI for reef tank, and you could get by with just RO on a fish only.

I'm with Rocky, I would go RO/DI right from the start. You will save the difference on time and gas anyways

Scubadude's on the right track - we need more information about your tank. Reef? FO?
