29G, RIO 110, too much?

I've had a 29G tank with live rock only for a while and as far as I can tell, everything is fine. I have a RIO 110, and a Prism skimmer.

A few days ago, I decided to but one small clown fish. The fish is fine so far. But I was just wondering if RIO 1100 is too much for that fish? There are times that I see him swimming really hard to get into places.

In the future, I want to add some corals, maybe anemone. Can I keep the RIO 1100, or shall I change it with a couple of smaller powerheads?

thanks

I don't think we can provide enough current for our corals; it is only too much when it's splashing out of the top of the tank or as much as your substrate can handle without making a cloudy mess. The clownfish will be fine in teh flow.

RIO's on the other hand used to cause a lot of problems for people. I haven't heard anything in a while but that is probably because most people stay away from them (or maybe they actually fixed the problem). Here is a thread for you to read about them with plenty of horro stories (this thread is old hense my reason for mentioning the above):

I agree with Scott on the rio. Be careful there are cases where people have been shocked and cases where the pump melts in the tank.

Again these were older instances so they may be resolved, but why take the risk, when their are other options available. For future purchases

Mike

PS if the sands not moving turn it up till it does then back off an 1/8 turn...
