Sump and/or Refugium
What is the difference between a sump and a refugium? I found this on ebay what do you think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...gename=rvi:1:3
I won't have any free time to get my tank up and running for quite some time, unfortunately. I have so much house work going on that I need to get that done. So to save time I was thinking maybe instead of me building my own sump or refugium I'd buy a pre made one. Let me know what you think. |

The difference between the two is a sump is just a place for equipment and extra water volume; a refugium is a safe haven for critters to reproduce without the fear of predators in the tank. Typically they have LR and macro algaes for the critters to live in and have a lower flow rate.
The box you put up doesn't look bad at all, without the bio-balls. ![]() |
