DI Only...
I know this is not the norm, but I use DI unit only. I made it myself. I purchased (3) 10" Water Filter Canisters, 1 Micron Sediment Filter, .5 Micron Carbon Block, and a DI Cartridge. Put them all together and I get 0 TDS water from this until. It produces about 6 Gallons an hour and should last about 1000 Gallons, no waste water.
Of course I do have a Water Softener already installed for my house along with a 5 Micron Whole house filter so these probally help a lot. After the initial fill on my tank, I only need about 20 Gallons of water a week for evaporation and water changes. The nice thing is that I paid less than $90.00 for the whole setup. |
