i was thinking of getting a ro/di, but i wasn't thinking of plumbing it to under a faucet sink, is it possible to have it as a portable one, and take it to any faucet opening and just make the water and then put it away??

im not sure what to get, and not really sure how it works ... seems too noobed =I. i was thinking spending about 200 for one, how often does the cartridge need to be changed?

perhaps some newbie threads or what not..

thanks =I

Check your PM - I'd be happy to walk you through the RO/DI issue...

DI Only...

I know this is not the norm, but I use DI unit only. I made it myself. I purchased (3) 10" Water Filter Canisters, 1 Micron Sediment Filter, .5 Micron Carbon Block, and a DI Cartridge. Put them all together and I get 0 TDS water from this until. It produces about 6 Gallons an hour and should last about 1000 Gallons, no waste water.

Of course I do have a Water Softener already installed for my house along with a 5 Micron Whole house filter so these probally help a lot.

After the initial fill on my tank, I only need about 20 Gallons of water a week for evaporation and water changes.

The nice thing is that I paid less than $90.00 for the whole setup.
