Cleaning Inside the tank

If the tank was contaminated with a harmful cleaner, what would be the best way to sanctify it once again. I heard hot soapy water, but what soap would you all use that wouldn't leave any residue?

Thanks!

I am cleaning an old tank with "Safe & Easy" by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. Says to rinse before filling, works great.

I've been told Dawn, it's suppose to be biodegradeable.

I think any dish washing liquid will be fine, the important thing is to over-rinse it once your done cleaning. Rinse it 3, 4 or 5 times after you think you;ve got it all out.

Thanks. I will make sure I rinse it well. I appreciate everyone's help. Sure makes it hard to be patient with all the cool things going on here. But I am trying!

Keep resisting any impulses; the slower you go, the more rearch you do, the better off you and your tank will be.

I understand. It's a long time before that happens. You all mentioned not to buy anything, do my research. The only thing I have is the tank and that was given to me. Cleaning is done, now I'm working on the stand and location. Still window shopping and looking at filtration/lighting equipment so I can at least understand what you all are talking about.

Thanks!
