Essentially the same in terms of performance considering they both use the needlewheel/impeller along with the sedra pump.

However, the built is different. Euroreef uses cast acrylic while ASM uses clear pvc or some kind of clear plastic ( a lot cheaper looking). I guess if you don't mind the appearance than an ASM will do.
But your resell value will probably be higher with the euroreef if you ever wanted to sell.

Jeff's exotic also makes Southbay skimmers similar to euroreefs but no needlewheel. They have the same quality as euroreef in terms of quality. However, I think the needlewheel does make a little difference in terms of skimming.

Well the ES series is most likely extruded acrylic. Cheaper acrylic than cast. Probably made so that euroreef can compete in the lower end skimmer sales.
Jeff's exotic's website is www.exoticfish.com
FOr some reason they don't have the picture of their southbay skimmer on their website but they also sell Euroreef. I think their prices on Euroreef are pretty cheap too.
I would ask them what their price for the Southbay and if you can buy the needlewheel separately. If the prices of buying a southbay skimmer + needlewheel is equal to buying a euroreef, I guess I would buy a euroreef.
Jeff's is not allowed to sell his skimmers with the needlewheel supposedly because of patent infringment? However, I am sure he can sell it separately.
not sure.
