carbon

will carbon remove any trace of copper from a new started tank a 5 gal? im affriad that i didn't clean out my equiment very clean

I think I've seen a Poly filter that claims to remove Copper. I've never tried it though. Also SeaChem makes a copper removal product, again I have not tried it though

Yes, there are a lot of products that will remove copper from the water column but none of them can remove every trace of adhered copper in the tank. The only way to make a tank that has had copper in it safe for invertebrates is to do a complete sterilization. This is a rather time consuming and somewhat hazardous procedure. It involves a bath with dilute hydrochloric acid followed by a large number of rinses.
