Skimmer
I am setting up a 150 gallon reef. I need a skimmer. I have narrowed it down to the My Reef Creations MR-2 or the Life Reef VS2 24"? Any comments or other suggestions. I am looking for the best skimmer for the dollar.

My Reef Creations hands down. Andy makes an excellent product; craftsmanship is excellent and the performance is excellent. After owning one, I think the beckett skimmers are the best way to go.

I run an MR-1 with a MAG 18 on our 75 gallon so I think a MR-2 with MAG 18 or a stronger pump would be a perfect fit for a 150. You might want to consider getting the skimmer with the Quick Release option Andy offers for easy cleaning. You simply will not be dissappointed with the skimmer, or their service.
Be sure to mention you found MRC on Reefland if you decide to purchase. ![]() Scott Z. |

I've never used one of Andy'd skimmers but I do have one of his Kalk reactors. He's a great guy to deal with.

Great thanks for the input. I will be sure to mention Reefland when I purchase. I was thinking of also going with MRC Nilsen reactor.
Can't decide between the Nilsen or Calcuim reactor.. But that's another thread. |

Whatever skimmer you decide on I would strongly suggest that it have a beckett injector. From what I've read on many other sites alot of peopl swear by them. jm2c
