Crushed Coral for new tank
Do I need to rinse crushed coral before I put it in my tank? Nothing in the tank yet.
I would think yes. Should I just use a regular kitchen stainer and tap water to do this? Should I buy a new one just for this job? Any one I have already has been through the dishwasher and I would think would be suspect to add some detergants to the water that I would not want. Thanks, Rob |

I'm not a fan of crushed coral but some folks like it for fish-only tanks. You can rinse it just about any way you choose. I wouldn't worry about the strainer at all.
