In what order do you have the filters in? If it's a good R/O membrane then your TDS should read 0 or no higher than 3. Did you flush the carbon blocks before hooking them up to the R/O membrane? Or maybe your meter is out of calibration?![]()
What is an acceptable TDS reading for my water? I installed a new 6 stage RO/DI this week. My tap water measures 150ppm and am getting a reading of 13ppm out of the RO/DI.
Is this ok ....or what should it be?
Thanks !

Have you had your daily requirement of Blues today ?

A new R.O. unit should have a rejection rate of 90-95% . Looking at the numbers provided you have about a 91% rejection rate . Not the greatest , but not bad either .As your membrane ages this rate will decrease . That is why it is a good idea to check TDS levels often. The manufacturer of my filter recommends changing the membrane when rejectionrate drops below 80%.
In this hobby patience is not a virtue,,,,,its mandatory.
I did flush the system through with about 30 gal. before measuring. After another 30 gals went through, I'm now getting 3ppm on the TDS meter.
Thanks for all ther help, I really appreciate it!

Can you provide a little more info? You need to look at the TDS levels in three places, and I think you've done 2 of the 3:Originally Posted by Drummer
