Removing calcium buildup on glass? Can it be done?

I recently re setup my 75g tank after it being broken down for a couple of years. I have 2 fish in it and all is going well.

My problem is....The inside of the glass has calcium buildup (at least I believe it to be calcium buildup). Front panel is hazy in spots and it is annoying the hell outta me. It isnt as obvious from a distance but when you get close it stand out pretty bad (at least to me it does).

When I was cleaning the tank prior to setup I didnt notice it and now that I have livestock in there I fear it is too late I am going to try using a straight edge razor and see if that works. My turbo snails appear to be removing a bit of it but it could be my imagination.

Can anyone offer any other possible remedies?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Lime Depostis...

Living in the Midwest and having had Well water I can tell you what you are dealing with is no fun. Hard Water Deposits are tough to remove when the tank is empty, worse when it it full.

Typically Lime will disolve when exposed to an acid. Generally I would clean the tank empty with White Vinegar or Muric Acid, used to clean Hard Water Stains off of Inground Concrete Pools. Vinegar is the first choice and Muric Acid is the second since Muric Acid has toxic fumes and needs to be diluted to the proper level it can be much more dangerous.

However since your tank is full and acids would kill everything in the tank, you probally are limited to waiting until the Lime dissolves naturally. This could take a while . You can try scraping, but that has never worked for me, unless the buildup is very thick.
