i just got a 125 gal its going to be salt water, i also have a 90 gal, the person at the pet store told me to make my 90 gal into a sump. would this be a good idea or not? he told me to put plants in the sump? would this help my 125 gal and cut down on water changes? and my wet dry system is a cpr 194 will this all work?

yes i will put 2 overflows in it and the 90 will set on the floor and the 125 will be above it.Its in a wall so all you will see is the 125.the 90 gal i already had, so i thought i would put it to some use.

I've been trying to find a 90 or even a 75 to turn into a sump for my 125 but all i find are pre drilled tanks. I have a few ideas i want to try out and these will work great with the 75 or 90. If you have the space by all means turn it into a sump/refugium

The fastest growing and hardiest plants for a refugium is any one in the caulerpa family. They grow really fast so it will need a lot of pruning. I have prolifera and floridana in my ref's and the prolifera is annoying. I feed it to my tangs. I reun 10k's over them 24hrs a day to prevent sporing. I'm sure someone on here will disagree with me about that but it's worked great for the past 11 months w/ no sporing so i must be doing something right.
