I ask because I just did my water tests and got some unexpected results. They are as follows...
PH- 8.22
SG- 1.025
Temp- 78.4
CA- 430
KH- 12
PO4- undetectable
NH3- undetectable
NO2 0.2 ???
NO3- 2.5
I usually dont test for NO2 as the tank is established but figured I would this morning. I use Salifert test kits (brand new). The NO2 reading seems very odd to me and I am thinking that the test is reading a false positive. I am going to buy another test kit to see what type of result it yields.
Here is my setup
90 AGA
4'' LS substrate
120lbs LR
MR-1 skimmer
aquaclear 500 (I clean this daily)
I do 10% water change weekly. dose B-ionic daily. feed every other day (small amounts). The last thing I added to the tank was a RBTA about a month ago. All inhabitants seem to be very happy and are displaying no concernig behavior. They are...
Hippo Tang
Maroon clown
Flame angel
Coral beauty
Frogspawn
Torch coral
Plate coral
some xenia,mushroom & various polyps
about 100 assorted snails (turbo,cerith,nassarius)
I'm not overly concerned but was wondering if anyone ever had something like this happen before.
Mark
