Unhappy Maxi Jet Specs

Well once again my stupidity and newness in the hobby got the best of me....I am now the depressed owner of a bouncing baby seaclone 100 skimmer......I know it needs a break in period but I am already not liking the way it works...shoulda researched and listened a little better. Anyway.....Just curious if maxi jet makes more pumps that have the same basic specs as the 1200 that came with it. Would it even be wise to try a bigger pump for it? I'm sure I could rig something up with a little more power but I'm not sure if the skimmer could handle it.

I had a seaclone before, not the best skimmer thats for sure, but it will pull some junk out. From my experience, taking of the prefilter sponge on the maxi jet will help out. Also, I didn't get much skimmate until like 2 weeks with it running, the collection cup would fill with water a lot. After that, it would pull some nasty dark brown muck. I used to turn the skimmer off for about 5-10 minutes a week, this will flood that venturi valve where the air hose is, clearing up any salt creep that my be cloging air being pulled in. Good luck.
