55gal/RemoraPro, needs refug
All this started when I used an old Tetra Nitrate test and saw that the powder wasn't mixing till it sat longer that required. Got a high reading of over 100ppm. Switched to Aquarium Phamaceuticals Nitrate test and it came out 20ppm. Anyway, started me thinking on the following: Need to know if there is a fuge setup that is ready made, that will reduce the number of water changes, without flooding. Tank is not drilled, and has been running 1yr with liverock, sand and crushed coral. Plenty of circulation. Have no sump, because front to back of stand is less than 11". Run a Fluval for added water space and charcoal. Is there a dependable overflow & fuge set-up that could be hung on the back (already have an AquaCRemPro on back), and what size would I need? Would this be too much weight, and what size should I get if not? No way to get in behind tank, unless I drop down from the top (or reach over). I know I could probably build a box stand and slide it down the back for fuge to sit on, but the whole idea may be a bad one if there's not something ready made that's not going to overflow into the floor. I'd be stocking the fuge with sargassum and chaetomorpha, sand, mud too, maybe copes and amphs.
