The reactor reduces phosphates which in turn reduces nuisance algae. I installed a phosban reactor 2 weeks ago and am very please. My phosphates are undetectable. granted..they were not very high to begin but still does a good job. If you are fighting high levels of phosphate...I would not rely on a reactor..I would instead look for the culprit ie: tap water, overfeeding etc. but if looking for a product to keep normal phosphates in check, I highly recommend one

no we arent having probs with phosphate. it peaked his interest cuz the lfs guy said it would help get rid of hair algae. which is not to bad yet but very ugly to look at. but the lfs guy said it was a good thing to have anyhow.

IME, people jumped into these things without much info. I started one up to help rid my tank of nuisance alage about the same time I started up a fuge with macros. I don't blame the Phosban reactor on bleaching any of my corals because my problems started before the reactor was installed, however, there are a lot of people who do blame this product on bleaching corals. Needless to say I dumped the phosban...the reactors work pretty good for carbon
