How should i setup my filtration??

i have a 200 gallon tank with dual overflows on each side. I have 2 wet dry filters. Should i connect the wet drys together and use one pump? Should i use each wet dry seperate with its own pump?

What is the best way to do this? or any other suggestions? the reason i have two wet drys is the tank is 8ft long and the hoses will not reach from end to end so i decided to get two wet drys.

Hi infinkc, Welcome to Reefland!

You could not run them separately, safely; they will need to be joined together.

If you were to run them separately with 2 pumps, let's say one pump failed, the other pump is going to continue to to pump water to the tank. Since wate ris still pumping to the tank, water is still going to drain from the overflow that is connect to the box with the failed pump and eventually overflow it.

Additionally, the use of a wet/dry filter is not the most effecient and will require removal of the bio-media to keep low nitrates; basically you have 2 very expensive boxes that are no different that 1 cheap box used as a sump. I would suggest you go with 1 large sump instead that contains a large skimmer and refugium (if desired) and just extend the hoses.
