ALGAE-good or bad?
come and discuss why or why not you think algae and plants are good and bad.
Consider this algae are more effiecient at removing pollutants than plants....HMMMM ideas |

It is bad because it can quickly overcome a display tank, regardless of how pretty it is in appearance. It is good when, and only when it can be grown and harvested in a separate container and used for natural filtration.

I don't think it is can be called simply good or bad. I believe whether it is a good thing or bad depends it's use or presents in your system.
If it is in your show tank with nothing to keep it in check it can be your worst nightmare. If it is in your show tank with tangs, foxface or other larg herbaviors it can be a handy snack for your fish when it peeks out it's OK, But you will always need the herbaviors or see comment one. If it is in an algae scrubber or refugium separate and harvested for nutreint export it could be you tanks best friend. An irreplacable aid to your system.
