Well guys and gals, after 160lbs of hard found Southdown and 120lbs of LR here is my Reefland!
![]() Ok...well, it's not much of one yet but it'll get there eventually. I just finished the hood and awaiting the arrival of my light fixture. It is currently being lit by a 75watt PC flourescent. Ok. So I've tested my water today and the parameters are as follows: Ammonia: >.025 Nitrite: undetectable Nitrate: ~30ppm SG: 1.028 Everything looks like its ready to add my lifeforms so I'll probably do that this weekend but I have a couple questions before I do. As you can see in my earlier posts my ammonia level was pretty high around 3 (ppm?). My question is how do I know if I still have life in my sand. I placed the sand in the tank so that I could cycle it with the tank but I'm wondering if I have killed everything in it by sending my levels so high. Also, my 12g Nano is still setup and has been up and running for almost 6 months now. Could the sand in there be considered "live sand" and is it ok to add this sand to my display and refugium?
