Question AquaClear 70 Powerhead Making Bubbles?

Hi all,

I'm new here and new to the hobby. I've had my tank set up for just over a week now, and in addition to the return pump I have an AquaClear 70 pump mounted underwater via suction cups for additional circulation. It seems that about every 15 seconds it spits out a whole bunch of small bubbles with the water it is pumping. These bubbles circulate through the tank and slowly make their way to the top. Is this normal? The filter return powerhead isn't doing the same thing.

Something that may be relevant: My tank is obviously oxygen saturated -- I have bubbles clinging to the walls everywhere. Right now I have no livestock, other than live rock and live sand (one of which brought some tiny shrimp and some tiny white specks with tails that look like they might be baby shrimp, though please let me know if I should worry about this -- I read up on Ich and it sounds like ich wouldn't be visible to the naked eye until it starts growing on a fish). My best guess to the airbubbles is that the water is so oxygen saturated that the inside of the powerhead is getting bubbles growing on it, then every now and then there's too many and they get snagged and blown out.

Any help/tips/advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

i have an 802 powerhead and it does the same thing. at first i thought it was sucking air in from a hole in it from the surface. but with closer inspection i realized that its just sucking in anything floating in the tank and chops it up. i seen a piece of food produce air, algae floating did the same thing. i thought theese powerheads were good but turns out they are not that good. i exspected them to be fully submersible-but they are not! theres a sticker saying do not submerese bewlow this --- line! what the hell not really what i was expecting. hagen need to upgrade there line of powerheads to meet the needs of marine enthusiasts.

Oh wow. I think maybe I need to check on the submersibility of the pump then! The strange thing is, it doesn't appear to be sucking in anything particularly big, maybe tiny pieces here and there, but nothing to explain the masses of bubbles. I'll see if maybe I can get a picture, but something tells me it won't turn out
