heater!!!
I have two Won Pro-Heat Titanium 500 Watt Heaters in sumps in my garage. One of them does not work and the other one works but I have to wait for my medusa controller to turn them on then I have to go to the heater and turn the dial off then back to the temp I want to get it to heat. What I want to do is just plug the element into the medusa controller and then get a replacement element for the other one that does not work and have them both plugged in to the medusa controller. Will this work, can I just have the element plug in directly.

I am guessing that the heaters are the digital ones? Otherwise, why would you have to mess with the heater thermostat. I have 2 non-digital Won heaters controlled by my AquaController, which functions like the Medusa controller and I just set the thermostats on the heaters slightly higher than the temperature set on the AquaController.
How long can the digital controller in the Won Pro be off before it forgets its set point? If that is what is happening, I would replace the heaters with non-digital ones. You really should have both the Medusa AND the heater thermostat. That way, if the Medusa fails in the ON position, the heater thermostat will cut out when the temperature rises slightly, preventing it from boiling the tank. |

The heaters are not the digital ones, the 500watt model has a detachable controller . http://www.wonbrothers.com/product/heater/icheater.htm mine is the last one in the first set of pictures, I have the temp on the heater controller a littler higher than the medusa controller but when the medusa controller kicks them on, the heaters say they are on but I can feel them and there is no heat until I turn the heater controller to 50 then back to 81 then they heat up. So I wanted to just unplug the element and plug it into the medusa controller but Premium Aquatics says it is not a good idea. So far the maker has not replied to my e-mail

It sounds like the Won Control unit is messed up. I guess you will have to wait for word from Won.
