coral

o.k i know that this might not belong here so if you want to move go right ahead but this seemed like the most used part of the forums. so my tank has been set up for over a week i'm not dumb i know you can't put fish in for six weeks and my specific gravity, or whatever you call it, is right where it should be so here is my question can i go ahead and start putting coral in as long as i make sure it is really hardy and everything i was told you could but just wanted your advice thanks

No. You should not consider adding and coral, fish or anything else to the tank except for Liverock until the tank has completed the cycle.

Liverock is is rock that has been collected that contains many, many different forms of life such as macro and micro algaes, coralline algaes and most importantly, bacteria for the nitrification and denitrification cycles. There is a huge difference between live coral and live rock.

I would suggest you browse the our book store and pick up a good book or 2, I would recommend:
The Conscientious Marine Aquarist : A Commonsense Handbook for Successful Saltwater Hobbyists
By: Robert M. Fenner, Christopher Turk Average

And:
Aquarium Corals : Selection, Husbandry, and Natural History
By: Eric H. Borneman, et al

Do yourself and your tank a favor and don't buy another thing or take another step until you get one or both of these books to learn the basics from.
