now things are getting fun

Well it looks like my cycle is done ammonia undetectable, nitrite, undetectable, alk and ph all ok. I'm using test strips for everything but the no4 . My readings have been this way for approximately 1 week. I will order my denitrivor kit from ipsf next week. I also would like to start the QT procedure on my first fish ocellaris clown. My QT tank will be a 10gal I know small but that's all I have room for, hope better than no QT at all. I'm getting ready to order the filter for this set up what I am looking at is the Hagen biofoam sponge filter. This is air driven will I need a power head in my tank also or will the filter provide enough water movement in this small tank. I have been reading about the treat or not to treat in the QT tank (meds vs. low salt levels ) I guess my question is does the low salt levels kill ick. After reading about this problem i'm inclined to treat everything with meds, if signs are apparent or not. is this wrong?
