Do you have the skimmer sitting in water in the sump? If so, how deep of water is it in? Might simply need to raise it a few inches.

My euro-reef took about a week to settle down. Also if you ever use any stress coat or super glue they are really sensitive and will fill with water. I would put the riser at the lowest setting and it will start working right in about a week.

Water condition makes a big difference in how the skimmer works. I have a Red Sea Prizm and it worked great right out of the box. took a few minutes to get it set right and worked great for several weeks. Was shocked to find it was so easy to set up after hearing it takes a while some times. Then one day I added some red slime remover to my tank to get rid of the nasties and BANG!! my skimmer didnt work for crap. But I knew what was wrong so I didnt panic. I set it to keep running but at its best it wasnt doing much. 3 days it took for the medication to work thru the tank and my skimmer sprang back into action again.
Only thing I was glad of was the fact that it worked first then gave me trouble. Had my water been that way before I added my skimmer I may have thrown it out. Im not a skimmer expert by any meens but Id give it a few days to settle out. Max |

On day 3 I really don't think there is much CRAP to pull out... What livestock if ANY do you have in there? I hope all you have is LIVE ROCK... Anything else would be a waste, and CRUEL to the animal...

Hi kelly, welcome to Reefland!
![]() If you can't solve the problem by adjusting the riser, then you will need to raise the entire skimmer up about an inch and see if that does the trick. Good luck, ![]()
