Pump Review
Here is my review of the Gen-X PCX 55HP (High Pressure) pump. Mind you this is my first external pump ever (besides Mag Pumps
).The Gen-X PCX 55HP......is.......AWESOME!!!!! It is driving my MR-2 single injector beckett skimmer and it is making a very ugly and disgusting, yet pretty head of foam. The pump is pretty darn quiet (again, really nothing to compare to) and it's a pretty shade of blue to boot. I was running a Gen-X 8500 submersible (2300gph non-pressure rated) pump and while it worked ok, the PCX 55HP (roughly 1100gph pressure rated) is much better. So, if your running a flow pump on a Beckett skimmer, consider getting a pressure rated pump instead. And definately consider the Gen-X PCX 55HP!!! |
