.25 nitrite in tank after move

Hi all... I have a fish only 135 gallon saltwater tank... I have a 10" golden puffer in it, 3-4" clown trigger, 6" panther grouper, and 2 dwarf lions... I moved my tank 3 hours away to my new place and set everthing up again. Fish seem fine and handled the moved great but I am now having a .25 nitrite reading and 60 or so nitrate... I have done 2 water changes so far, should I keep an eye on the reading and if it doesnt go up anymore let it recycle without doing water changes or keep doing daily water changes of about 30 gallons or so... Let me know what you guys think... thanks in advance to all that reply

The 0.25 ppm nitrite is just a reflection of the dieoff resulting from the move. It's not really all that high and everything should be OK. Nitrate at 60 ppm is not a problem at all for most fish but obviously you will want to see it start to come down.

Are you running fresh carbon right now?

Yes, by all means, but at least a cup or two of fresh carbon in a mesh bag in your sump in a spot where the water will flow through it.
