sump design ??????

Unhappy sump design ??????

Hello everyone....
I have a few questions concerning a sump and skimmer design i want to use http://http://www.aquaticeco.com/ind.../4991/cid/1344
My ? is i want to put my skimmer in the skimmer area, but am very confused on how the water gets back to tank......
I understand the concept of how it works, but am havimg a brain freeze with the skimmer...
ok... the water syphons from main tank through micron bag ,through sponge......ok now it gets pumped into skimmer to make skimmer work, now when it comes out the othe side of the skimmerwhere does it go....it wont make it up to the ank, does it get pumped into the main tank from another pump??????this is where i am confused please help my brain freeze please...

i dont think that link is working, but it is from aquatic ecosystems and it is a berlin style sump..

I don't know how that particular sump is made but usually the water overflows from your display to the skimmer chamber, the skimmer skims and returns the water to the same area, then the water usually goes through a series of baffles to another compartment for added water volume, then another baffle or two and another compartment where your return pump will be to pump water back to the display. Some people use an external return pump but that requires a little extra plumbing.

I tend to not make sense sometimes so if I didn't plz let me know and I'll elaborate a little better.
