    URGENT opinions needed, new RO/DI

Well my cheapy ebay RO unit broke today and it was a DOH moment for me for sure. My girl got a good laugh as I fell on my arse and the unit crashed to the ground breaking multiple pieces. I think that I could just order the pieces to fix it but I wasn't too happy with it anyway. Since I just got paid it's a good time to get another.

I've been shopping around all day and reading the forums but they all look the same to me.

I did find this one that seemed to be a good deal and I was wanting some opinions on the matter. I don't wanna spend more than $200 and this one is well within that range.

Please check it out for me guys and get back to me tonight so I can get a replacement in here.

I have ASW for this week but need to make some more before Sat the 12th...
If this isn't a good idea for whatever reason I'd appreciate some links to some deals.

That looks like an excellent deal! I see no reason why you shouldn't grab it. To me, the RO/DI units are basically the same. Sure they have different daily capacity can may come with different micron filters but all in all they are the same. What I look for in a unit is the support I can get from the manufacturer if/when needed. That would be the thing to look for with this unit. Who is it made by and how can you contact them if needed.

Looks good, What is your water pressure tho? That 100 gpd may depend on having at least 60-65 psi. I ended up ordering a booster pump also to get my psi to 60. Other than that concern, go for it, the price is right.

I had chatted with uh....I can't remember his name over at buckeyefieldsupply for a couple of hours the first time I ordered a unit and was advised by someone here that it was a little pricey. After this mishap and looking around once again I decided to order from him despite the price difference. It was a little more but for the quality of work, great customer service and all I decided this was my best bet. Here is what I ordered...

    1 Premium Series 75 gpd RO/DI System Item161 $149.00 USD
    1 Automatic shutoff valve Item117 $9.75 USD
1 Quick connect check valve Item112 $6.50 USD
    1 Bulkhead 1/4 inch Item142

I expect to be happy with it but we shall see.
Now I need to find a good price on a float for the auto shut off. He advised me that the ones the hardware stores sell isn't really appropriate for what I want to do with it but he doesn't sell the one I need so.....the list of reef equipment that I want/need never ends.

I think we all self medicate with the reefs............after meeting a lot of other reefers I'm pretty certain some self medicate in a few other ways.
