External Pumps... Sequence or ReeFlo?

Hey everyone!

Well I am getting closer to buying the pumps I need for my 375 gallon tank and have run into a problem... Which ones to buy... I was considering the Sequence 750 series for my sump return and the 1000 series for my closed loop. Then in come the ReeFlo series which are less expensive and have similar flow rates. Both series look identical. Has anyone compaired the two? Are the Sequence quieter than the ReeFlo? Do the Sequence produce less heat? There must be a performance or quality sacrafice for the price difference. Help......

Greg,

I have no experience whatsoever in the Reef Flo pumps, however do have experience in the Dolphin pumps and Some of the Sequence pumps. I will say that the sequence pumps appear to be much quieter than the Dolphin pumps, and they also seem to have less heat due to their design. The amp draw of the dolphin pumps was the only thing that would lead me away from the sequence. I have been wanting to try some sweetwater pumps too. Just wat you wanted advice on different pumps then what you where asking for right

Sorry Ill shut up now :P

Rocky,

I gave Sequence a call this morning. I talked to a very nice guy who was willing to share info.... Good Customer service.... Anyway, I guess the requests for the 750 series with salt water seals interupted their assembly process a bit. So to make things more efficient they made a "salt water" line. They are the same motors with the exception of the Dart. So to answer my own question, save a few bucks and get the ReeFlo line......

Here is another one for everyone to ponder. How about the difference between an Iwaki 55 and Pan World 150PS...
