Perhaps large tank could mean something big enough to be buried in?
Only if it's you and your family

Kevin,

Dgasmd (Alberto) got rid of his 360-gal tank because it was too little. Check out his new 750-gal tank: http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/...ead.php?t=5253

So the definition of a large tank for any given person is one that is bigger than their last tank, but smaller than their next one.

I just got a 300gl tank. If it takes 6 people to move it then I would say you got a big tank.

Size, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder!

Check out this guy's new reef tank:

That tank measures 17' x 5' x 3.5' and it will be plumbed inline with his fish-only tank that measures 11' x 3' x 2.5'. That's a 2225-gal reef tank hooked up to a 617-gal fish-only tank. I'm not sure about the size of his sump and/or refugium.

I guess it will be drilled on site, George? That is one monster sized reef tank, nice to have a home that is able to house something like that.

I have no idea what they have in mind for the plumbing. I'm just as confused as you are.

Why don't you go post that question in the thread and see if anybody's home?

I don't know,George. I feel awfully embarrased posting questions like that to people I don't know. If that was your tank you know I'd be buggin you with questions...
But, I couldn't help but wonder why it wasn't drilled for the plumbing looking at those pix you posted.

Yes, he drilled the tank onsite. I found that out because someone posted a link to his thread on a British board: http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/i...pic=31613&st=0

I wonder if his plumbing will be concealed once the tank is set up? Right now it's very conspicuous.

It's nice to have a tank that large but it's totally out of proportion to the size of the room it's in. The ceiling is too low and the tank takes up the entire room. I wish him luck dealing with the heat and humidity issues.

If it takes two people to carry it, its a big tank.

I totally agree with you there,George. Looks a bit out of place but.., I must say it is a large tank with lots of possibilities. Hopefully he'll make it a beautiful reeftank and I wish him luck.

I agree as well. The tank looks fabulous and has endless potential but the room is much too small for it IMO, looks very out of place. Hell if I could get a tank that large I'd put it were ever I could fit it though.

I could see a 17' long tank built into the wall of a living room or even as a room divider between a living room and dining room but it looks very out of place just poking out into the middle of the room like that, especially since the room has such a low ceiling.

I guess a big tank is something larger than what you currently own...
